Add the onion, celery and carrot. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables start to soften. Stir in the garlic, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes and salt. WebbInstructions. In a medium or large slow cooker, add the broth, lentils, red pepper, carrots, celery, onion, garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt and pepper. Stir to combine. Add the whole sausage ring to the top of the broth and vegetables. Set slow cooker on low for 7-8 hours or high for 3 1/2 -4 hours.
